How this site handles your information
What we collect when you share a memory
The Share a Memory form asks for a memory or story (required) and, optionally, a name. That's all. We don't ask for an email address, phone number, your relationship to Marvel Haunani Seguritan, or a photograph, and we won't add fields to collect them later without saying so here first.
Public and private memories
When you submit a memory, you choose whether it's shared publicly on this site or sent privately. Public memories may appear on the site right away, shown under the name you gave — or as "Anonymous" if you left that blank. Private memories are never shown on the public site; only the site administrator can see them, in a password-free, sign-in-protected area.
Family photographs
The photographs on this site were provided by the family and are not uploaded by visitors. The form does not accept photo uploads.
Keeping the form free of spam
To keep the memory form from being flooded by automated submissions, the server keeps a short-lived record used only to limit how many submissions can come from the same place in a short period. That record is built from a one-way hash of your IP address — not the address itself — and never includes anything you wrote. It's used only for this purpose and isn't shared or used to track you elsewhere on the site.
Cookies
Visitors sharing or reading memories aren't tracked with cookies or analytics. The only cookie this site sets is a secure sign-in cookie for the site administrator's private admin area, and it isn't set for anyone else.
Changing or removing a memory
The family will add contact details here for anyone who'd like a memory edited or removed.
